We invite you to learn about urban agriculture and our food system through group tours at Big Muddy Urban Farm!
Farm Tours
Farm Tour Overview
We are thrilled to invite groups of all sorts to our urban farm during the growing season. Hands-on activities or field tours, each visit connects individuals with their food source and extends our urban food community.
Groups
We host tours for a range of groups – school and youth groups, professional clubs, corporate service groups, visiting conference groups and more. We can accommodate for group sizes between 5 to 25 people. If you are an individual looking to tour, checkout our social media channels as we post information on open house events throughout the year.

Calendar & Activities
Tours consist of seasonal food systems discussions and hands-on activities such as pulling weeds, preparing soil for garden beds, feeding chickens, helping harvest, cleaning vegetables and other seasonal farm tasks.
We select activities based on the day you request and it’s correlation to our weekly farm calendar. We typically tend crops and soil on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with harvesting activities on Thursdays and Fridays.
Time Frames
Tours are 90 minutes and include ice breaker activities, possible walking time between farm plots and conclusion before good byes.
